Sharing and Collaborating on cBooks

Cellucidate Support Nov 24, 2009

By default your cBook is private and neither viewable nor copyable by the anyone in the Cellucidate community. There are several ways to share your cBook and collaborate with others. In all cases, you can control cBook settings from the Foreword page of your cBook.

  1. Publish your cBook - By publishing your cBook, a copy of the cBook is made (so you can continue to edit the original version). That copy is then viewable by both registered AND unregistered users of Cellucidate. To do so, click the "Publish" button on the Foreword page.
  2. Make your cBook public - By making your cBook public, only registered users of Cellucidate can see it. You can set the permission so others can view your cBook, or you can allow them to also copy it to their own bookshelf. To edit these settings, click the "Manage Sharing" button on the Foreword page, and make the appropriate changes for "Everyone".
  3. Share your cBook with another Cellucidate user -You can share your cBook directly with individual users rather than everyone . You can allow them to view and copy the cBook. To edit these settings, click the "Manage Sharing" button on the Foreword page. Type the user's name in the text box and press the enter button to find them (they must be a Contact of yours first). Once they have been added, set the appropriate permissions.
  4. Collaborate on your cBook with another Cellucidate user - In addition to sharing your cBook, you can collaborate with other users by giving them editing permission. Your collaborators can create new pages in your cBook, edit any existing pages and simulate models. Cellucidate has a locking system for collaborators in which two collaborators cannot edit the same page at the same time. You can see if your collaborators are in the cBook at the same time as you are via the status bar. If you decide to remove a collaborator, you can do so on the Foreword page. Your collaborators can also choose to remove themselves on the Foreword page.
